Lyle Aviation

A flight school at Penn Valley Airport (KSEG) in Selinsgrove needed a site that actually showed prospective students what the school is — flight training, discovery flights, and the flying club — rather than a brochure page that left them guessing. The people it needed to reach were already checking the weather before deciding whether today was a flying day.

• Built a custom weather widget that pulls live conditions for the field straight from AviationWeather.gov, so current field conditions sit right on the page instead of behind a link to another site.
• Wrote the widget from scratch rather than dropping in a generic weather embed — aviation weather is its own format, and pilots want field conditions, not a consumer forecast.
• Structured the site around discovery flights, the step that turns someone curious into someone booked.
• Built on Next.js so pages are statically served and load fast on a phone at the airport.

The weather widget turned out to be the reason people return to the site rather than just visit it once, and the site produces a steady stream of inquiries about the school.
